Channel 8 News Now is committed to our community and the worthwhile charitable organizations devoted to making Southern Nevada a better place. Channel 8 News Now continuously seeks opportunities to collaborate with charitable organizations in order to improve our community. Community promotions include:

Tools for Teachers – a two-week school supply drive each August benefiting the Public Education Foundation’s Teacher Exchange. All Clark County teachers are eligible to go to the Teacher Exchange & pick up supplies for their classroom.

Toys for Tots – Every December, Channel 8 News Now is a proud sponsor of Toys for Tots, providing toys to children in need to brighten their holiday season.

Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure – Over 18,000 participants each year converge on downtown Las Vegas to support friends and family affected with breast cancer. This annual walk/race is a tradition with Channel 8 News Now.

Paws NOW for Pets – Pets are family, and thousands each year in our community need a forever home. Channel 8 News Now has teamed up with the Nevada SPCA and the Animal Foundation to host events designed to encourage adoption, pet food and supply donations, and providing low-cost immunizations.

Cool at School – This annual promotion incorporates news promotion. Cool at School highlights wonderful programs in our local schools throughout the year. Cool at School segments air in the morning news during four sweeps periods (February, May, July and November). In addition, four programs are randomly selected each sweeps period to win $250 for their respective programs.
